Being asked by Ventiquattro Magazine to design a food bag for a show during 2007’s Design Week in Milan, Jorre van Ast, Tomas Alonso and Mathias Hahn came up with Vesper. We focused on the cutting board and knife as main elements of this solution for a food on the go container. Combined with a washable blanket of synthetic fabric that folds up to become the actual bag, it celebrates the hapic experience of preparing and enjoying food. Like drinking wine from a crystal glass this is related to the right materials used. Instead of staging a grand performance picnic, Vesper can simply be used to pop outside, shop a few ingredients and prepare an enjoyable snack in the sun.
