Coatlight

A coat stand that serves as a hall light, or vice versa. The ‘Coat Light’ identifies the entrance as a kind of gateway that welcomes arriving visitors. The simple gesture of directed lighting dramatises the presence of guests and creates an atmosphere of hospitality even though the visitor might be unexpected.

The lampshade is made from spun aluminium and accommodates the light fittings. The tripod is made from solid oak and is attached by wingnuts to avoid the need for tools when set up.
